Hi there, I'm Kayli.
Putting the multi in multimedia has always been my favorite part of journalism. I started as a print reporter, with my first byline in the local paper before I even had a driver’s license. In college I managed to save the student newspaper from closure, and that same year fell in love with visual story-telling and decided to pursue a masters degree in multimedia production.
I have held almost every position possible in a newsroom: reporter, photographer, videographer, copyeditor, social media manager, digital producer and editor. I landed my childhood dream job at the Chicago Tribune where I worked as a digital and visual content editor, and later headed west to work as a digital strategist at the Denver Post.
I’m now a doctoral student at the University of Colorado Boulder, where my research focuses on newsroom sociology, primarily the intersections of organizational culture, photojournalism and social media.
